Maintenance of the chain of a chainsaw wood cutting machine
The maintenance of the chain of a chainsaw type wood cutting machine is the key to ensuring the normal operation of the equipment and extending its service life. Here are some maintenance points:
First, lubrication and maintenance
Add lubricating oil in time: After the saw chain is lubricated, the cutting is smoother. Clean guide plates and saw chain oil should be added to the oil injection system of the chain saw in a timely manner. Do not use used oil or old engine oil in the chain saw or on the saw chain. These oils contain acids and particles, which will shorten the service life of the cutting system. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the saw chain, guide plate and drive sprocket can always obtain oil from the chain saw during operation. Every time the fuel tank of the chain saw is refueled, saw chain oil should be added to the oil tank of the saw chain.
Clean the oil passage with a lubricating oil gun: If necessary, use a lubricating oil gun to clean the oil passage to ensure that the lubrication system is unobstructed.
Second, tension adjustment
Adjustment standard: When in the cold state (unused state), the saw chain should be closely attached to the lower side of the guide plate, but not too tight. When in a hot state (after continuous use), the saw chain is considered qualified if it can be easily rotated by fingers. When adjusting, first stop the chainsaw, put on protective gloves, then turn the compression knob counterclockwise to loosen the guide plate appropriately. After adjustment, turn the compression knob clockwise again to firmly fix the guide plate.
New chain running-in: After replacing and installing the new chain, it takes 2 to 3 minutes for the sawing chain to run in. After the break-in period, check the tension of the chain. If necessary, readjust it. The tightness should be such that it can drive the saw chain to rotate. When holding the saw chain by hand, it is advisable for the guide teeth to be level with the guide plate. After using it for a few minutes, make sure to tighten the saw chain again.
Third, cleaning and maintenance
Daily cleaning: Timely clean and wash the dirt in the guide plate grooves and saw chain. During sawing, both the guide plate and the saw chain will wear out. The iron filings and fine sand worn off will accelerate the wear. The gummy substances on the trees, especially the oil on the pine trees, will melt and adhere to the saw chain during the sawing process due to heat, causing the joints to seal and harden. The engine oil will also be unable to enter and lubricate, thereby accelerating the wear. It is recommended that after daily use, the saw chain be removed and soaked in kerosene for cleaning.
Guide plate treatment: Clean the guide plate including the guide plate grooves with a brush and gasoline. After completion, gently and slowly touch the periphery of the guide plate grooves with your hand. If you feel burrs pricks your hand, wipe back and forth 1 to 2 times with sandpaper or a flat file.
Fourth, chain inspection and grinding
Link inspection: During daily maintenance, it is necessary to pay attention to checking whether there are cracks or broken rivets on the saw chain links, replace any damaged or worn parts on the saw chain, and then assemble new parts of the same shape and size as the original ones.
Saw chain sharpening: Generally, the left and right cutting teeth on a saw chain are cutting tools. After being used for a period of time, the cutting edge will become blunt. To keep the cutting edge sharp, it is necessary to file the cutting edge regularly. When sharpening, it is essential to maintain the Angle of the saw teeth. The angles of all the saw teeth must be the same. If they are not, the saw rotation will become unstable, and the wear will be severe. In severe cases, the saw chain jaw may even break.
Tooth root groove filing and grinding: The cutter head should be sharpened approximately once every five times. Use a 7/32-inch round file to file and grind the tooth root groove, removing the excess part. File and grind the tooth root groove from the inside out (in the opposite direction to sharpening), and be sure to leave a 1/8-inch corner behind the tooth root groove.
Limit tooth setting: Select the corresponding limit tooth height gauge for the saw chain. Check the limit teeth once after sharpening three to four times. After the height gauge is fixed in place, use a flat file to file and grind the limit teeth downward at the position flush with the top of the tool. Do not file and grind the limit teeth downward too much to avoid exceeding the specified limit teeth setting. After filing the limit teeth low, the bevel Angle on the limit teeth should remain parallel to that before filing.
Fifth, long-term storage and maintenance
Before long-term storage, the remaining wood chips and dirt should be cleaned up. The saw chain and guide plate should be removed and coated with anti-rust oil. The motor should be protected against dust.
